6. Partition Logic

Partition Logic ဆိုတာလည်း အပေါ်မှာ ပြောခဲ့ဖူးပြီးသား Partition Manager တွေလိုပဲ free hard disk partitioning နဲ့ data management tool တစ်ခုပါပဲ။ ဒီကောင့်ကို အသုံးပြုပြီး Partitions တွေကို Create လုပ်လို့ရတယ်၊ Format လုပ်လို့ ရတယ်၊ Defragment လုပ်လို့ ရတယ်၊ Resize and Move လုပ်လို့ ရတယ်၊ Partitions attributes တွေကို Modify လုပ်လို့ရတယ်။ ဒီကောင့်မှာပါတဲ့ သဘောကျစရာ ကောင်းတဲ့ Feature တစ်ခုက HD တစ်ခုလုံးမှာ ရှိတဲ့ Data တွေကို ဒီ HD တစ်ခုကနေ နောက် HD တစ်ခုစီ Copy ကူးပစ်လိုက်လို့ရတယ်။ Partition Logic က Visopsys operating system အပေါ်မှာ အခြေတည်ထားတဲ့ free software တစ်ခု။ ဒီကောင့်ကို သုံးမယ်ဆိုရင် CD ကနေလည်း run လို့ရသလို Floopy ကနေလည်း run လို့ရတယ်။ ခုလောလောဆယ်မှာ ဒီ Partition Logic ကို free ပေးထားတယ် ဆိုပေမယ့် နောင်တစ်ချိန်မှာ ဒီကောင်က commercial programs တစ်ခု ဘဝကို တက်လှမ်းဖို့လည်း စိုင်းပြင်းနေတယ်။

ဟိုဟာကောင်းတယ် ဒီဟာကောင်းတယ်ဆိုပြီး ပြောထားပေမယ့် ဒီကောင်မှာလည်း ကန့်သတ်ချက်လေး တွေရှိပါသေးတယ်။ 

Partition Logic ရဲ့ ကန့်သတ်ချက်တွေကတော့

• Does not work with some SATA hard disks, no hardware support for non-USB SCSI hard disks

• Supports only DOS/Windows-style MBR partition tables (used on nearly all IBM PC-compatibles)

• No support for Sun or BSD disk labels, or EFI/GPT tables used on Itanium and Intel Mac platforms

• Most important: Cannot format partitions as NTFS (however, it can resize NTFS)

• Cannot resize FAT or EXT filesystems

• No hardware support for serial mice or for PCMCIA

10. eXtended FDisk

eXtended FDisk ( ဒါမှမဟုတ် ) XFDISK ဆိုတာ free ပေးတဲ့ DOS FDISK တစ်ခုဖြစ်ပြီး အသုံးပြုသူကို အဆင်ပြေပြေ သုံးစွဲလို့ ရနိုင်အောင် စီစဉ်ပေးထားတယ်။ eXtended FDisk ဟာ bootmanager ပါပါဝင်ပြီးတော့ ကိုယ့် HD မှာ OS ကို တစ်ခုထက် ပိုပြီး သုံးစွဲတဲ့ အချိန်မှာ အလွယ်တကူ သုံးစွဲလို့ ရနိုင်အောင် သူက ကူညီ ပေးနိုင်တယ်။ XFDisk ကို အသုံးပြုပြီး HD တွေကို partitions တွေ စိတ်ပိုင်းပစ်လို့ ရတယ်၊ နောက်ပြီး bootmanager ကို install and configure လုပ်လို့ ရတယ်။ ဒီနေရာမှာ တစ်ခုနားလည်ဖို့ ပြောပြချင်တာက System partition နဲ့ Boot Partition အကြောင်း။

System Partition ဆိုတာ Disk partition ဖြစ်ပြီး အဲ့ဒီ့ partition ထဲမှာ boot sector နဲ့ တခြားဖိုင်တွေ ( ဥပမာ - windows xp နဲ့ သူ့ရှေ့မှာထွက်ခဲ့ဖူးတဲ့ earlier version တွေအတွက် booting လုပ်ဖို့ လိုအပ်တဲ့ NTLDR ဖိုင် ဆိုတာလိုမျိုး ) ပါဝင်တယ်။ ( Windows Vista နဲ့ Windows Sever 2008 မှာတော့ NTLDR ဖိုင်ဆိုတဲ့ နာမည်အစား newer boot loader တစ်ခုဖြစ်တဲ့ bootmgr ဆိုတဲ့ နာမည်နဲ့ အစားထိုးဝင်ရောက်လာတယ် .. ဒီ bootmgr ကို ပြင်ဆင်ချင်တယ် ဘာညာဆိုရင် BCDEdit.exe ဆိုတဲ့ ဟာနဲ့ ပြင်ဆင်တည်းဖြတ်လို့ ရတယ်။ )

Boot Partition ဆိုတာလည်း Disk partition တစ်ခုပဲ ဒါပေမယ့် သူ့ထဲမှာကျတော့ Windows Operating System Files ( Windows folder ) နဲ့ အဲ့ဖိုင်တွေကို support ပေးတဲ့ တစ်ခြားဖိုင်တွေ ( WINDOWS\System32 folder ) ပါဝင်တယ်။ ဒီဖိုင်တွေ အားလုံးဟာ System Partition ထဲမှာ ရှိတဲ့ ဖိုင်တွေနဲ့ ကွာခြားတာ တစ်ချက်က Windows Operating System Files ( Windows folder ) နဲ့ အဲ့ဖိုင်တွေကို support ပေးတဲ့ တစ်ခြားဖိုင်တွေ ( WINDOWS\System32 folder ) အားလုံးက booting အတွက် ဘယ်လိုမှ သွားရောက်ပတ်သတ်ဆက်စပ်မှု မရှိဘူး။ System Partition ရော ၊ Boot Partition ရောက တစ်ခါတစ်လေ Partition တစ်ခုတည်း ( ဥပမာ - Drive C: ) ပေါ်မှာ ရှိတာချင်း တူတာတောင် System Partition နဲ့ Boot Partition ကမတူကြဘူး။

တကယ်လို့ Boot Partition မှာ မှ Primary Partition အပြင် Extended partition ကိုပါ ခွဲထုတ်ပြီး logical drives တွေအဖြစ် သုံးမယ် ဆိုရင်လည်း XFDisk က Extended partition တွေထိ ထိထိရောက်ရောက် manage လုပ်နိုင်တဲ့ပြင် ၊ bootmanager ဆိုတာကလည်း ကိုယ်ပိုင် partition တစ်ခု အနေနဲ့ တည်ရှိနေတာမျိုး မဟုတ်လို့ logical drives တွေကနေ booting လုပ်မယ် ဆိုရင်တောင် support ပေးနိုင်တယ်။ နောက်တစ်မျိုးပြောလို့ ရတာက multi boot system တိုင်းအတွက် bootmgr ပါတဲ့ System Partition တစ်ခုစီတိုင်းဟာ Boot Partition ထဲမှာ ပါဝင်နေတယ်လို့လည်း ပြောလို့ ရတယ်။ နဲနဲတော့ ရှုပ်ပါတယ်။ ဟုတ်ပါတယ် .. Microsoft က ဘာကြောင့် ခုလို ရှုပ်တီးရှုပ်တာ လုပ်ငန်းစဉ်တွေကို သတ်မှတ်လုပ်ဆောင်နေလဲ ဆိုတာတော့ ငါလည်း နားမလည်ပါဘူး။
